What We Do

CompanionIndex is an independent editorial site that reviews, compares, and ranks AI companion apps and cam platforms. We evaluate platforms across features, pricing, free-tier value, safety practices, and user sentiment — and publish the findings publicly so you can make an informed choice before you hand over your time and money.

We cover the major AI companion apps — Candy AI, Kindroid, Replika, Character AI, DreamGF, and more — along with the leading cam platforms: Chaturbate, LiveJasmin, Jerkmate, BongaCams, Stripchat, and others.

Our Editorial Stance

Every ranking on CompanionIndex is produced by our editorial team. Platforms cannot pay to appear higher in our lists, and affiliate relationships do not influence our assessments. We earn a commission when you sign up through our links — at no extra cost to you — and that revenue funds the research.

We try to be honest about what we don't know. Platform experiences vary by use case, preferences, and how you engage with the product. When we say “Kindroid is better for long-term depth,” we mean based on design intent, feature set, and aggregated user feedback — not a universal truth.

How We Evaluate Platforms

Our evaluation framework covers seven dimensions: features and UX, free-tier value, pricing and value, content quality, safety and privacy, AI quality and persona depth, and overall value for money. Each platform is scored on a 0–5 scale per dimension, with scores weighted by user goal.
